Starting my own website wasn’t entirely my idea, I have to thank my boyfriend, Brad, for really getting me going on this project. He’s always loved the artwork I do, and when I started selling my cards in my yarn shop, he thought they deserved a wider audience. I was a little worried about doing it, but with the encouragement I got from Brad and from my family, I did manage to make this website myself, except for 2 technical problems. It took a lot of trial and error, but I think I finally got it right.

Anyway, my name is Emily and I own a small shop, Everything Yarn and More, that sells knitting and weaving yarn and everything that goes with these fun activities. And, of course, my cards and prints. Brad and my family, gave me the moral support needed to really get my shop up and running. They helped with just about every aspect of getting my shop together, so Everything Yarn and More is a reflection this help and dedication.

Most days I can be found in my shop, helping my customers find just the right yarn for their needs. I especially like helping those who are new to knitting, crocheting, and weaving off to a good start, and helping to make sure their projects are successful. I always have found that knitting is a great way to relax as well as make some really nifty and useful things. My Golden Retriever Rollo comes to the shop with me every day, and he’s a favorite with the customers.

I’m right in the middle in a family of two brothers and three sisters, and growing up in a large family was a lot of fun for all of us, although Mom and Dad did have their hands full some of the time. All of us live pretty close to one another, although my maternal grandparents live a couple of hours away on their farm. Dad’s parents are just four miles away.

My website isn’t just about me, my work, and my family and friends, it’s also about everyone who visits here. Emily Talks About is about meeting new friends and sharing our experiences, dreams, and thoughts with one another. I hope you like the website, and come here often.
